Study Visa from Outside Canada

Before entering Canada for studies, most international students must have a permit to study at a Canadian university/college. And the prospective students must apply to IRCC or Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada for the study permit before coming.

The application guidelines are specific to a lot of the Canadian universities and other higher education institutions. If you are an overseas student and wish to apply for studies in Canada, you have to start the application process early.

In order to receive a letter of acceptance, you, as a foreign student, have to write directly to the institution, college or university in Canada of your choice. Once you send them a letter or an e-mail, they will let you know their specific requirements for acceptance. It is worthwhile to ask them about any specific financial details or staying facilities in and around campus and they will let you know all about it. Once accepted by an institution for a program of study in Canada, foreign students should apply for a student authorization at the nearest Canadian diplomatic mission.

For obtaining a Study Permit, the applicant must meet the following requirements :-

Eligibility requirements for Student Authorization

If you are a foreign student and you need to apply for a student authorization, you must fulfill the given requirements. You must –

The process of applying for a student permit from outside Canada can be cumbersome and complicated.
